These terms are an agreement between you and Digital Nomad Media LLC ("Digital Nomad Media", "we") covering the RecipEZ Android application, its optional account services, and its optional subscriptions. By installing or using RecipEZ you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
The service
RecipEZ is a local-first recipe, pantry, receipt, shopping-list, and meal-planning application. The core features work on your device without an account. Some features are optional and require an account, a subscription, or both. We may change, add, or remove features over time; we will not remove your ability to read and export content you have already saved.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live, to use RecipEZ. RecipEZ is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children. If you live where the age of consent for online services is higher (up to 16 in some EEA countries), you need a parent or guardian's permission to create an account below that age.
Your account
An account is optional. If you create one, you are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your credentials and any linked Google account secure, and for activity that occurs under your account. Tell us promptly at admin@thedigitalnomad.io if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
You may sign out at any time while keeping local data, delete your remote account data from the Account screen in the app, or request deletion by email as described in the privacy policy.
Your content
You keep ownership of the recipes, notes, photos, pantry records, lists, plans, and other content you create or import. You grant Digital Nomad Media LLC only the limited permission needed to store, transmit, back up, and display that content in order to operate the features you enable, such as personal cloud sync or a household you create or join. We do not use your content to advertise to you, and we do not sell it.
You are responsible for the content you add. Do not upload content you have no right to use, and do not use RecipEZ to store or share unlawful material. Recipes you import from third-party websites or providers remain subject to those sources' own rights and terms; importing a recipe for your private use does not give you the right to republish it.
Households and sharing
If you create or join a household, the lists, plans, and recipe copies explicitly shared into it become visible to the other members of that household, along with membership and invitation metadata. Your private account data stays private and is not shared by joining a household. Removing a member ends their access to household content going forward; it does not retract copies already downloaded to their device. A household subscription stays with the person who purchased it, and an ownership change does not transfer the purchase.
Subscriptions and payment
Optional subscriptions unlock premium features such as personal cloud sync and household sharing.
- Plans and current prices: Personal at $3.50 per month or $28.00 per year, and Household at $9.99 per month or $49.99 per year, in USD for the United States market. Other countries see local prices set in Google Play, including any VAT or sales tax. Prices shown in the app at the time of purchase are authoritative.
- Customers who have never held any RecipEZ subscription may be offered one seven-day free trial across all RecipEZ tiers. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription converts to a paid term.
- Purchases are processed by Google Play, not by Digital Nomad Media LLC. Billing, renewal, payment methods, cancellation, and refunds are governed by Google Play's terms and are managed in your Google Play account. We never receive your payment-card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel at any time in Google Play; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
- Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy. We may honor a refund request outside that policy at our discretion, but we are not obliged to.
- Household coverage includes the Personal benefits. Holding both at once does not stack storage allowances, and we do not automatically cancel or credit an overlapping subscription for you.
- If we change prices, the change applies to future renewal terms and Google Play will notify you as its rules require.
Consumers in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland
If you are a consumer in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. Because a subscription gives you digital content and services immediately, Google Play asks you at checkout to agree that the service starts at once and that you lose the withdrawal right once it does. During a free trial nothing has been charged, so you can cancel without cost. Your rights to a service that is as described and fit for purpose stay in place, and nothing in these terms limits them.
What happens when a subscription ends
When paid coverage lapses or is cancelled, we do not delete your content. You keep read and export access to what you have already saved. New premium edits and cloud uploads pause, basic local features and running cooking timers continue to work, and premium features resume if you subscribe again. Previously verified access may continue to work offline for up to seven days; this is a tolerance for being offline, not an extension of a subscription you have ended.
Storage limits
Accounts and households are subject to published storage limits, currently 1 GiB and 2,000 stored journal photos per account, and 20,000 sync records with 256 MiB of payload for each of the personal and shared household scopes. We may adjust these limits, and will give reasonable notice before reducing a limit in a way that affects data you have already stored.
Community recipes and moderation
Community participation is optional and requires an account. Posting recipes and commenting require premium access. Your community profile, recipes, captions, photos, and comments are visible to other signed-in community members. Share only content you own or have permission to share, and keep private information out of public posts and photos.
Do not post harassment, hateful or sexually explicit material, threats, unlawful content, spam, or content that infringes another person's rights. Use the in-app report and block controls to flag problems. We may hide or remove content and suspend community access after reviewing reports. Text filtering and user reports help moderation but do not guarantee that every post is safe or accurate. Contact admin@thedigitalnomad.io about a moderation decision.
Community photos are limited to three per post, 30 new uploads per day, and 512 stored photos per account, with a maximum of 2 MiB per photo. Removing a post does not retract copies other people already saved or shared.
Third-party services
RecipEZ uses third-party services to work, including Google Play, Google sign-in, Supabase for authentication and optional cloud storage, and recipe and product data providers such as TheMealDB, Spoonacular, Tasty, Suggestic, RecipeAPI.io, and Open Food Facts. When you search, scan, or import, your request is sent to the relevant provider. Their content and availability are outside our control, and their own terms apply to your use of their data.
Acceptable use
Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app except where that restriction is prohibited by law; do not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app or its provider data; do not attempt to bypass entitlement checks, storage limits, or provider rate limits; do not access another person's account or household without permission; and do not use automated means to extract data from the app or its backend at a scale that burdens the service or a provider.
Food safety, allergies, and cooking risks
Read this section carefully. It limits what RecipEZ does and what we are responsible for.
RecipEZ is an organizational tool. It is not a source of medical, nutritional, or food-safety advice, and it does not inspect, test, or approve any food. We do not write, review, verify, or endorse the recipes, product records, or nutrition and allergen data that reach the app from third-party providers, from webpages you import, or from other people in your household.
Cooking and eating food is inherently risky
Preparing and eating food carries risks that no app can remove, including allergic reactions up to and including anaphylaxis, choking, foodborne illness, cross-contamination, undercooked or spoiled food, and burns, cuts, fire, or other injury from cooking, appliances, and equipment. You accept those risks. You alone decide what to buy, cook, eat, and serve, and you are solely responsible for the safety of anything you prepare or serve, whether you eat it yourself or give it to children, guests, household members, or anyone else. Digital Nomad Media LLC is not responsible for that decision or its consequences.
Allergy and dietary features are not a safety check
Allergy, intolerance, and dietary warnings in RecipEZ are produced by matching the words in whatever recipe, product, or receipt text the app happens to have. That is a convenience, not a safety determination. In particular, these features cannot detect:
- an allergen a recipe, label, or provider record does not mention, or names in a way the app does not recognize;
- cross-contamination, shared equipment, trace exposure, or "may contain" risk;
- a reformulated product, a changed recipe, or a regional label difference;
- anything about food you did not enter, scan, or import.
The absence of a warning never means a food is safe. Ingredient substitutions, "Cook Tonight" suggestions, and any other recommendation the app makes can introduce an allergen or an ingredient you must avoid; check every suggested substitution before you use it.
Dates, alerts, and timers are not safety devices
Expiry, low-stock, and stale-item information comes from what you enter and is an organizational reminder, not a judgment that food is still safe to eat. Discard food according to its actual labeling, storage conditions, and your own judgment, not according to RecipEZ.
Cooking timers and notifications are conveniences and must not be relied on for safety. They can be delayed, silenced, or missed entirely because of Android battery optimization, notification settings, device state, a reboot, or an app or system failure. Never leave cooking food, heat, or an appliance unattended in reliance on a RecipEZ timer or notification.
Always verify independently
Always read the actual ingredient list and package label before you eat or serve food, and consult a qualified medical professional about allergies, intolerances, medical conditions, medication interactions, pregnancy, infant and child feeding, and any dietary restriction that matters to your health. If you or someone you are cooking for has a serious allergy, treat RecipEZ as a notepad and nothing more. Never rely on RecipEZ to decide whether a food is safe for you or anyone else to eat. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
Responsibility
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Digital Nomad Media LLC is not liable for any allergic reaction, choking incident, illness, injury, or death arising from food you select, prepare, serve, or consume in connection with RecipEZ, or from your reliance on any recipe, ingredient list, allergen or nutrition figure, substitution, suggestion, expiry indication, alert, or timer in the app. This section does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, and it does not affect any statutory right you have as a consumer.
Backups are your responsibility
RecipEZ provides export and, optionally, cloud sync. Neither is a guaranteed backup service. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. Uninstalling the app, resetting your device, or deleting your account removes data as described in the app and the privacy policy.
Beta and preview features
Features labeled beta, preview, or debug-only are provided for evaluation, may change or be removed without notice, and are excluded from any commitment in these terms.
Availability
We aim to keep the service available but do not promise uninterrupted operation. Account services, sync, and provider-backed features may be unavailable during maintenance, outages, or provider failures. Local features are designed to keep working offline.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RecipEZ and its account services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Digital Nomad Media LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or the cost of substitute services, arising out of or relating to your use of RecipEZ. Our total liability for all claims relating to RecipEZ in any twelve-month period will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for RecipEZ during that period or twenty-five US dollars.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you may have statutory rights that these terms do not affect.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Digital Nomad Media LLC against claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from content you upload or share, from your breach of these terms, from your violation of law or of a third party's rights, or from a claim brought by another person relating to food you prepared, served, or recommended in connection with RecipEZ.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using RecipEZ at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms, if required by law, or if your use threatens the security or integrity of the service or a provider's service. Where practical we will give notice and an opportunity to correct the problem first. If we terminate your access without cause while you hold a paid subscription, you may seek a prorated refund through Google Play. Sections covering your content, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law survive termination.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will update the effective date above, and we will give notice in the app or by email before they take effect where the change is significant. Continuing to use RecipEZ after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Bexar County, Texas have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your place of residence gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere. If you are a consumer in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring a claim in its courts.
Apps distributed through Google Play
Your use of RecipEZ is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. Where Google Play's terms govern billing and refunds, they control over any conflicting statement here.
